My understanding Sam is you can apply directly for the State Department ID, the only thing required is SSN. If there is any issue they will take your picture and once that issue is resolved will send you the ID in the mail.

What I suspect is what you have seen is the utmost efficiency and professionalism common to the people working in licensing centers.

Are those workers unionized? You have to wonder if someone is having that much trouble if they are trying to sabotage it.

From the looks of it Richard one had some sort of handicap & the other was a lot older than I am, easily in his 70s from appearances I think they were doing the best they could. The thing that gets me is if a person passes their drivers test on a Tues. or Wed. they then would have to come back Thursday-Sat. for their photo license. It may work out for them in that there is staff 6 days a week but they can't get the entire process done except for Thursday (only day both are in) like I say it's a big county with only one office which is pretty much in the middle but for me it's a 25 mile trip one way. In all fairness there isn't a huge population but I think that rather than 6 days just pick 4 or 5 when both would be open.

Personnally I feel like every American should be allowed to vote. It's a fundamental right. That said, I think that first time voters should be required to provide proof if citizenship and photo ID. The problem I have is when the law prevents people who have voted before for many elections and all the sudden they can't vote because of a missing Photo ID. That is BS.

It's not BS, there's millions of illegals in the country now; things have changed, and they're trying to prevent voter fraud. You can get it free in PA and many other states; what do you want, a limosine to pick up every voter? My NJ driver's license was a piece of paper for decades, then I had to show all kinds of ID to renew it. I can tolerate that if it protects society as a whole. We have enemies among us that have total disregard for our laws and they counterfeit everything they can.

I said it is BS if you are an American and you've voted in the past and are registered. I did't say illegals. And yes I would provide a limosine to anyone who couldn't get to the poles such as seniors, handicapped people ect.. It's that importent that everyone who can should vote. Our government needs to be chosen by every one of it's people. Matter of fact I drive a van on election day and take people who can't get there otherwise. Suppressing the vote is un-American period. I don't care who you vote for, but for god sake vote.

One of the issues is many of those "people" that have voted in the past may not be real people. This law will weed out fraudulent vote registrations and any votes that might be cast by them. There was a statistic the ACLU was using that possibly 1 million registered voters in PA may not have a valid ID, there has been a very poor response up to this point. I think the number was PennDOT has issued a little over 10 thousand ID's for voting purposes. Of course the lefts argument is that the tactic of voter suppression is working but the big giant elephant in the room is how many of those are invalid or fraudulent?

It's going to be interesting to say the least because PA sent letters to every registered without a corresponding PA ID. I haven't heard anything yet about how many of those letters were returned as undeliverable.

That's what I would like to see also Richard and I think that was a proper thing to do (the letter). I have no problem with that at all. I just want every American given the opportunity to vote. It's a tender topic to me because it's a defining principal of Democracy. If it were up to me, it would be one man (person to be PC one vote and the winner is the person with the most most votes. I understand that I'm being simplistic and I totally understand the reasoning behind the electoral college but that's just me.

The reason for the letter Steve was to inform them of the new law, they weren't fishing for undeliverable addresses but they can certainly go and look why anything that came back was undeliverable.

on the "undelivered address " the way the state did the 911 address changes was a total mess, our address is changed here but if the address change is not on the mail we don't get it, we do get all the junk mail with the old address on it, and as for getting a pa driver license they never replaced ours with a new one after the address change ask they said just wait till your new renew for PA to get voter Id law right it will take them 2 years to roll out
