The 6 tons I got this year was supposed to be stove size but it turned out to be half stove and half egg size mixed. I will try to burn a couple of coal hods of stove size separated as a test. I guess my point I was getting to is I own an old chicken farm and have plenty of land and I would like to order 20 tons next summer and not have to worry about coal for a few years. I just love the fact that I don't always have to worry about a little moisture ruining my fuel source. I can't even count the number of bags of wood pellets that had turned to wet saw dust and I had to use as landfill.

I completely understand. I just wanted to make sure you had done a thorough evaluation before you commit to a TT load. If you are happy with the performance of stove size, that would give you more breakers to choose from. FYI: The 'spec' for egg allows it to be 9/16" larger than stove.

Your Glenwood should run very well on egg. I think these old stoves do better with larger coal sizes. No problem damping them down, and as you note, the response time to change the fire is much faster. I'd love to have egg for mine...

I agree with DJ, Mine loves stove coal and my bulk load of stove is on the large size. Next year I will skip the nut altogether and just get stove since the cookstove likes it fine too.

Very beautiful stove! That is what I was looking for when I came across my stove locally. I still have not given up on getting a base heater stove...I am a stubborn one! You did an awesome job setting it up too, it looks nice in front of the mantle.

Thank you for your kind words. We could not be happier with the Glenwood. The heat is amazing.
