Odd timing for the step down of the head of the CIA?

Does anyone in here think the general stepped down because of the stated reasons?????

Perhaps Petraeus had to be crushed early and hard in order to destroy his potential as a future Republican Presidential candidate, and the Dems sat on this method of destruction until just this opportune moment. Now Petraeus is just another Herman Cain.

they just said on the news that the gen. wont be testifying...maybe he stepped down cause he cant bring himself to lie for/with the rest of them...he is an honorable man...

Did he step down on his own or was he told if he won't lie about things, the best thing would be for him to quit. Something smells and it's not the fish. I smell cover-up.

Maybe he saw a video of the Kennedy assassination from an angle no one ever saw before?

ah, pleasures of the flesh....what ever happened to don't ask, don't rat out your partners and friends....would have been less costly to 'hire' a suitable alternative......Lots of cold, lonely nights in the desert, nobody is perfect......
'Keep your friends close, and your enemy's EVEN CLOSER'!!! There is MORE to this story than a simple indiscretion. I'd LOVE to be there when he has to explain it to the Mrs. of 37 years. He still has my utmost respect as a military mind,
and to see him fall this way is not very favorable, IMFO.
