Duel fuel coal stoker unit

Duel fuel coal stoker unit

PostBy: Northern Maine On: Fri Nov 16, 2012 7:19 am

In my quest to switch to coal I've expanded my search for and unit that is duel fuel (oil/coal) that would meet my needs. I have researched the LL-110...but was wondering if there are other units that are similar that could do the same! Thoughts?!

I know that EFM has the duel fuel option... I would burn about 3 tons of anthracite coal a year according to calculations! I have no chimney and want to direct vent or power vent a coal unit.

No chimney puts many stoker boilers out of the equation. LL offeres a power vent, Keystoker offers a direct vent unit, but I think that is it. (Maybe Coal Jack boilers can be power vented?)

If you have a functional oil boiler already, why would you want a dual fuel unit?

I want to get rid of the functional oil boiler and replace it with one unit that can burn both fuels...running them in unison is probable....but space may hinder that!

EFM makes a good duel fuel unit, but they do not burn in unison, you burn the coal when you can, and the oil when you go away or something.
