There is nothing "frugal" about plugging appliances into electrical outlets, either way you pay... It is splitting hairs to incur the costs of purchasing new electric heaters of sorts for every room in the house and then the cost to run them to boot compared to hanging the oil gun and going away for a long weekend or weeks worth of vacation...

Well, you said it best, it is about splitting hair, and this has been a nice healthy debate, and I appreciate you being informative and polite, but come on, I mean I don't drive a car not because gas is too expensive, but simply because of a DUI, this is Pennsylvania you know, it's a racket !

My girlfriend's mom promised to consider a coal stove but only after I pass her version of a sobriety check, she wanted me to move ashes from the stove to the outside, without spilling any on the carpet, and she allows me to hold the beer in the other hand during the test. However, she insist it's done at random times but so far she only asks me to do the test during times when I am wasted.

Hmff!! Mothers! Seems they're always concerned about clean houses and their daughter's welfare. Go figure.

Is your girlfriend's mom a forum member? Maybe you can patch things up a bit with her and tell her all sorts of sappy stuff about how much you care for her daughter. Then end your post with this:

:idhitit:

That should do the trick.

You the man Johnny!!!

Old thread, but I read through it and wanted to add my 2 cents. My house is a 1960s house, it has electric everything except heat (hot water heater, electric dryer, electric stove, all those goodies). I have to agree with everyone else, my house is already fitted with hot water baseboard, and having the wl110 with an oil backup is the best choice. My service is already upgraded to 200amp, but by the time I would install electric baseboard and all the wiring that goes with it, it would never pay off for the maybe 2 weeks I would be away from home every year. Electric is .9 cents a kw here, and I think that is ridiculous. One of the houses my mom rents out has electric baseboard heat, and it kills them in the winter. I would rather pay $3.50 a gal for oil for the 2 weeks I would be gone rather than go through all the hassle of having electric baseboard installed, and then paying the ridiculous charge for it when used.

Not to mention I am sure the wl110 is so simple to use, that even my mom could operate it when I was away! :P
