A lot of good regular guy stuff goin on around here I see. Hey Fred, nice design on the tail light assemblys. Those are the same ones I have on the big bopper, my 91 GMC Sierra. You could just weld a couple pair of stirrups on the bumper to protect the tail lights.
I got a pair of those same tail lights from rockauto that were very affordable a while back anyway.
Now all of a sudden it's winter and I know all the stuff I've neglected on it. I've been accumulating front end parts but it takes work to to take it all apart and fix up. I have ball joints and a bushing kit, but I would have been smarter to just get new control arms with the bushings installed.
Hey Smitty, whattya got over there, The Genesis Cave from Star Trek?
Best cat going is the Maine coon cat. Still remember our beloved Popeye, who used to come right into my shop and jump up on the bench to say hello.
Got a nice coal fire going, just broke down and got a new Samsung 50" led TV. The picture is awesome compared to the tired old Sony projection box I had for years. Had to send for it, it was sold out at Best Buy, took a few weeks to get here. Wrenched my back getting the old one out of here, they took it away in the delivery truck, obsolete old friend.
I made a shelf to put it on out of a 2 x 12 and painted it black. Home Depot steel brackets are kind of pricey but I have them in there pretty good with 4" screws. I got a cheap old surround sound box coming from Ebay, took a chance.
Got my welding tanks all full and cleaned up the guages; had to have the little 60cu/ft oxy bottle sent out to retest, the damn thing is as old as I am.
The local lumber yard puts out a small shed from time to time that says "Free Firewood" on it; stopped on the busy highway yesterday and got a good supply to start my coal fires with. There were some Ipe scraps in there, Brazillian walnut, will be fun to see how it burns. That stuff is as hard as lignum vitae, good for decks.
