One of the best things I've ever done to make running my stove easier is to get some cheap furnace filters at Lowes. I think I paid less than $10 for four 20"x20".
The blower on my Harman has a ring on the inlet that I take off and sandwich a small piece of the filter material in there and it keeps the blower wheel nice and clean.
Just had to replace it so I was thinking of it and figured I'd pass it along.

Yep, I do the same thing on my Hitzer 50-93---both ends--I just vacuume them --mine are pretty thin foam rubber pieces

On my US hotblast furnace. Now dont laugh. Bought 30.00 two drawer file cabinet. Pull out the drawers lay it on its side. Slide over dual blowers and since theres no bottom place your filter there.

I reused tin work from my propane system and fabricated an extension for the cold air boot 
It houses two blower motors like the poster above. I used strips of fiber glass at the seams to seal it and also make it accessible for motor maintenance. Its not pretty lol, but it all works good. The boot holds a 16 x 24 inch filter. I decided to try one of the washable reusable ones. I take it out every 3 weeks and clean it. Its paid for itself with the first few washings.
