Low stove temp with high outdoor temps?

What is a safe stove temp to run at lowest, I have had mine running at 250deg. for 24hrs. Tonight I lowered it to 200deg. and await to see how it works? This works well with temps hitting upper 40s during daytime. Manual damper is closed at 95%, that has been its setting during all burn temps

I'm no expert but the warmer it is outside the less draft, I think you should open up the MPD, the rest , well I'll let the other guys address that.

Unless you can watch the draft, I'd agree that the MPD should be opened up. Low operating temp and low draft are the reasons we have CO detectors!

Safest lowest temp when its warm outside? I think it would vary from place to place. As it gets warmer outside draft can fail. A few days ago when it got up over 60 degrees, I opened the manual damper, gave it lots of over the fire air (which just gets heated and goes up the chimney) and cut the primary air feed to a sliver to hold the furnace at about 180 with 130 on the pipe and a .01 - .02" WC on the manometer. I also have vents on each side of the basement to keep air pressure neutral with outside. So for a safest lowest temp, thats about the best I can achieve.

Yeah, Lightning beat me to it. In this business, what works for one won't necessarily work for another. Too many variables ...

What everyone else said, lowest temp will vary on every setup.

However in these mild temps with rain I would have the damper wide open

Yes, I agree with all replies. I only have 1 temp guage that I have on stove (200deg.), So I have not checked my stove pipe temp. Tommorow morning I will open MPD to ensure a safe draft during daytime upper temps. With stove in basement, I dont think I will need to turn down temp below 200deg. since I have 1300sqft above to heat even in 50-60deg. temps. I would rather let it burn out than to try and mess with 150-170deg. stove temps.
