MA residence can recieve up to $2,000 when getting new stove

PostBy: dcrane On: Thu Jan 03, 2013 5:01 am

Im not sure if anyone has posted this yet but it works just like the MassSave Program when replacing your water heater and/or Furnace/Boiler (another program ill make a thread for).

details for the trade in program are here http://www.mass.gov/eea/pr-2012/woodsto ... toves.html

If anyone needs an old pre epa rust bucket to trade in im sure we can all pitch in to help each other out.

Mark Sylvia today announced the launch of a new $100,000 pilot incentive program to assist residents in trading their inefficient wood-, wood pellet- or coal-burning stoves for safer, higher-efficiency models.

More efficient what? More efficient coal stove?

They couldn't have done this 7 years ago when we really needed it .....

This is MA ... so I wonder how many "catches" there are to this ... :gee: NOTHING is cut and dry in this state.

How much you wanna bet a new coal stove is NOT what they intend to buy you?

Yes, Its basically this... If you have a pre EPA stove of anykind you can trade it in and obtain a voucher (used as cash) towards the purchase of any post EPA stove. {cough cough} I guess its impossible to know if your "pre epa" stove was really being used prior to filling out the form. Think of it a gun buy back program for our stoves.

Its easy, follow these instruction ... each person buying a new stove in MA. will let me come drop a pre epa unit off at your house and then send Dougie a check for 50% of the thousands you saved we will be all set! thats a joke guys ;)
but you get the idea...

Yaaa, I think they made this to easy with not enough funding. But lets keep our eyes on this guys because its bound to be offered again as soon as the funding comes in.
just an FYI though... the MassSave program is still going strong!
