I am still gathering info to put my stoker in. I am using a power venter but I am confused on how big the opening needs to be in the wall. I have a studded walls with OSB on both sides. Obviously the hole has to be smaller than the mounting plate. I get that the single wall pipe needs to have clearance around the combustibles but what about the hole for the SWG itself through the wall? The SWG is double pipped. I am going from the stove up a few feet then elbowing to the power venter. I know I need to keep about three inch clearance to the top on the ceiling with the single wall pipe. Can anyone chime in on the hole through my wall to accommodate the SWG?
Also, what is the consensus on stove pipe? I bought some at Lowes that is black pipe made in Canada, the snap together sections. Is this a good choice or should I consider some other kind? Do the seams need to be sealed?
Is calking or cementing required between the sections? I put the T for my damper on the stove outlet flange for the stack and the Tee fits inside the the outlet. Seems to me that the stove pipe should go over the flange on the stove to make it more air and leak tight.
Thanks again for all the help
