When you watch this short video (see it above), keep in mind that the government brings in about $2.2 Trillion each year in tax and other revenues.

What is your point?

Look at the welfare budget and other wasteful spending and it isn't far behind.

http://www.usgovernmentspending.com/us_ ... ng_40.html

China is putting together aircraft carriers, Venezuala is making Kalashnikovs as fast as they can with the help of Iran, etc.

Too bad each citizen can't specify where their taxes are going to go... I don't mind paying for the military, but I do mind paying for useless eaters and nanny state deadbeats.

In 1940, our military consisted of one division. Japan's- 200 divisions; Nazi Germany- 300 divisions. When we knew the very existance of freedom was at stake, we converted the entire US industrial might to making weapons to save ourselves and the world from tyranny.
The physics that had proven an atomic weapon was possible was known worldwide. We scrambled to make the first working weapon because we knew the Nazis and the Japs were actively seeking it too. Imagine if voiciferous liberal idiots had have been successful in cutting the budget for the Manhattan Project.
The bombs saved a million US soldiers lives; we were preparing to invade Japan, and they still had many divisions waiting for us in the south of that country.

"Defense" is one thing.

Building an empire is another kettle of fish.

The Pentagon could stand a hair cut.
