My own breaker operation

I got about a ton and a half of free coal over the summer, the only bad part is the free coal was a mixure of rice, pea, nut and stove sized coal plus wood and other junk (nails, carpet, etc...)

Here is how I seperated the coal.... Enjoy...

I'd like to see how you make your coal bricks. I saw a few videos on youtube making one's out of sawdust and newspapers to bond them together. And there was one using coal dust, along with paper pulp to bond. It just looked like a lot of nasty coal dust water to deal with. I guess you could catch/contain the water, and let it evaporate off though. Take the micro fines, and wrap in newspaper, or in a bag, and burn.

There is another subject on the Hand Fired Coal Stoves called "what do you do with all your fines."

Someone had posted a youtube video, showing how they did their fine bricks.

I used the same way, 6 meatloaf pans of fines, 1 meatloaf pan of sawdust, 1/4 meatloaf pan of cement and mixed very well, then added a little water to just make the mixture crumble.

Then place back in the meatloaf pans and flip over and let dry. I made 3 batches yesterday and they are still drying, of course the cold weather isn't helping much.

I was planning on burning them in the hand fired....
