Does anyone know what size blower this could be?

Does anyone know what size blower this could be?

PostBy: michaelanthony On: Thu Jan 17, 2013 10:30 am

I can't tell the output of the blower, it is 30+ yrs. old and was painted black. The plate on the back of the stove with the U.L. information was sanded at some point. I would like to install a thermostat controlled box so the blower doesn't run 24/7. I want the fan to run at stove higher temps and cu off lets say at 250*-300*.

I can't help with the blower but, you might find that a variable snap switch from pexsupply.com will do the trick for a blower control :)

can you post a picture of the blower itself?
... any indication of the horsepower and RPM of the motor?
if it is belt driven... what are the 2 pulley sizes and distance between them?
.. squirrel cage measurements... diameter and length?

... if you are simply looking for the blower to turn on and off by itself (cycle)... then a fan limit switch would be your best bet

( I am assuming you are referring to the convection blower (air handler) ?

sorry, it I wasn't clear, it is the blower on the lower back of the coal stove. I took it off recently to clean and I would say about 3---3 1/2 inch squirrel cage. I can get a close up soon presently cleaning house while the wife is at school......no no college!

Sorry... I'm a little confused
.. if the blower you are referring to is the combustion blower ( feeding air to the stove) you're not going to achieve higher stove temps without it running... or am I missing something about your setup?? your OP mentioned a blower...but then you mentioned fan
... sorry for the confusion on my part

"no no college"....lmao !

.. it is an air wash, before I put the plennum on the top of the stove hot air would exit the under the lid which is now opened, I think the lid was designed so you could cook on it, keep in mind this stove was designed immediately following the fuel crisis of the seventy's
