cold night - hot fire

I am running my stove at around 650 F since it's so cold out. I was looking at the fire and thought a photo might be in order. Check out this fire!

dlj.... I 'm starting to sweat just looking at that fire. Next few days are going to be cold. Try to stay warm.

I think I got carried away, I looked at my wall thermostat and it was reading 76 degrees in here... I've had to back off my fire... Nice problem in this weather though.... Hope you are staying warm also. Coal is the best!

The recent cold is a pleasant turn from the near 70 degree weather we had a week or so ago.
The Chubby is going at about 450F in the cellar, the pellet stove is on setting 3 of 10 and maintaining 71 in the living room end of the house and the wood stove gets kick started in between to bring temps up from 68ish to low 70's.
All we need is a foot or so of snow and I'd be real happy. So would the kids.

Stove is running around 450* , house is at a steady 73*. Wifey is very happy with my decision to try coal this year. Happy wife happy life.

3 deg. here this am. 71 deg inside...hitzer doing good job...running 500 to 550...stay warm,stay happy...

Oh yeah, it's chilly outside--2*-- 72* inside. I'm a happy camper

Got to love that No. 6. It is 9F here this morning, VERY cold for Cape Cod. Wind is HOWLING as well. Don't even ask about wind chill, I don't want to know. The number 6 is humming along at its usual 350 degrees. It is a cool 65 in the house, just right for sleeping. Will likely fire it up hotter, however, as the prediction is for an even colder night coming up.

Was 5* this morning. The house was 67*. Too cold. Had the DS idling along at 460*, it was a bit too low. So, I turned it up to around 540*. Wife said it was nearing 70* in the house. It's bleeding windy. Sucks the heat right out of the house.

Yea. My house dropped to 63 yesterday. burr. Lady doesnt want to get naked if the house is cold....

Boostrap,if I let the house get that cold me and the stove would be outside looking in I been keeping the house between 85* in the lower level,80* in the living room,upper 70*s in the bedrooms and burning 65# a day but she is happy .Keepaeyeonit

It has been between -25 to -29F at night time all this week with highs ranging between -10 to -4 F during the day. Tomorrow we are suppose to bounce above zero tomorrow or at least hit zero, do I hear heat wave.

There are those of us that think we are running with the big dogs now when we have a cold snap and then there are those that REALLY know how to run with the big dogs. Stay warm.
