Has anyone heard of this company before?
http://smithsamerican.com/history.php Admittedly, their website sucks.
Apparently they've been around for a long time and I've never heard of them before a few weeks ago. I was doing a fire alarm inspection at a mall and walked past the Modell's Sporting Goods store and saw one of those denim work coats in the window. They were having a sale, the coat was $25. I went in, tried it on and it felt good. I put it back and said, 'Maybe tomorrow I'll buy it.' I hadn't given it much thought but the next day the price dropped another $5 so I bought it. I also noticed they had fleece lined and flanel (sp?) lined pants. I've been wearing the jacket now for a few weeks and I like it. It's heavy, durable and warm. The denim doesn't leave you much room to move but it's a good work coat.
This week, I'm doing another inspection at a mall. Only it's outside. And I figured maybe I'd pick up a pair of the fleece lined pants.
The thing I like about Smith's is the price. It's not terribly expensive. I've always like Carhart jackets but they are too damn expensive.
