How did you get that heavy stove into the house?

Shoulder Dolly... cheap, cost effective product that really works and should be in everyone's toolbox.

Ignorance will only get you hurt. These post show that the human can overcome the resistance of where we want the heat appliance should go. It is easy to say lets pit it in the basement, we buy it put it into the garage and ponder with other humans to fine tune the installation process. Was the Puris on electric or gas mode. Stove company sent 2 Humanoid college-aged kids who carried out my Efel which I had stripped to lessen the weight, but then carried the Kodiak in off the liftgate. Ranch house,up and over 2 steps, about 25 feet unaided.

I was once invincible also, that ship has sailed...

This is a pic of a second Surdiac I found, (maybe from this site). I bought it for parts seeing it was pretty well beat, but had some salvageable pieces. when i called the owner about loading it, he said he unloaded it from his PU truck "by himself"!(Middle age guy). The way he did it was to build a platform out of patio blocks, cinder blocks and wooden planks to the height of tailgate. then he "shimmied' it side to side, off the tailgate onto the top of the platform.After there he lifted and removed a plank or brick, one side at a time, to lower it to the same height as a dolley, which he "kitty cornered" it onto. (pretty ingenious I thought).Course, while I was there to get it, we just lifted it onto my truck, from floor level, to my tailgate . The heaviest thing I've had to lift in yrs.

Mine was about 600lbs. Going into the basment, but placed into the garage, by trucker, on the otherside of the house. I hired a local mover (experience counts) who I know. He came over with two big husky guys, an appliance dolly, and 3 sheets of plywood. 30 minutes, and $80 dollars later it rested in its current place. Avoid the "phone book" moving & storage companies....they will quote $400 plus. Clean out / haul away guys are another source of similar help......reasonable.

Do not ever, mess around with an item so heavy and cumbersome, if you are the least bit apprehensive. Never risk serious injury, even death, and or property damage needlessly.
