Convection Blower Motor

Hello,

My convection motor died on my Old Mill Stoker. Rather than replace the whole thing I would just like to replace the motor itself. I would need a double shaft motor. The closest thing I found is a Fasco K141.

This appears to be the same convection blower I have.

However there is not much info on the motor itself such as the manufacturer.

Anyone have any ideas?

The only thing is it seems like the shaft is about a 1/16 larger than mine...mine measures about 5/32...that one measures 7/32.

It might be worth getting it though..the plastic piece that attaches to the shaft can be drilled out I suppose...ugh!

I took the motor out of my COnvection assembly and it turns out the wire broke off...I'm going to bring it to work and see if I can solder it back on...this would be the second fix on this though and there is not much room for error anymore.

I would try calling grainger ...their call center operators are pretty knowledgable

You may have to chose your replacement motor carefully and re-use your old armature to have the dual shafts (both) of the same/proper length.

Chose for the same diameter armature hole in the new stack and also to allow the new sleeve bearings to fit on the old armature's shafts.

Go for it. It might last a good long time. I worked for a while doing maintenance at a hotel. They had a dozen or more upright vacuum cleaners...I can't remember the brand, they were red.... anyway, every single one of them died after 14 to 18 months. Of course the warranty was a year. Every single one had the same problem, a broken wire coming off the motor. It was a 20 minute repair. Open it, solder a short loop of wire to give it some slack and put it back together. Not one failed in that manner again.

I got it up and running. I really couldn't afford a whole new fan. There was very little wire to solder to coming off of the coil, but I am pretty confident it will hold.
