I know or have met quite a few people that have had it done and are happy about it. Good luck and hope everything goes well for you. With today's advancements I am sure it will.

I always wondered if you could get an optional Zerk fitting installed? :D

Thanks DonnaK, based on my unpain free like I am now I bet he is way happier. And I almost forget what it's like to be mobile.

He said that the worst part of recovery was sleeping on his back for a few weeks. He had the posterior surgery, but had very little pain after the surgery, which amazed me. Took very few pain pills. He's happily hunting and working here on our small farm.

Good luck!

Well I was supposed to have this yesterday but my Doctor had to postpone the operation until next Wednesday the 27th. My wife had a knee replacement last Wednesday the 13th so it's good there is 2 weeks between our operations.

The weirdest computer thing happened when I was at the hospital last week. To get the free wifi from the hospital when I would open up the Google Chrome the hospitals wifi page would pop up and I had to click on an "I agree" button to get the internet. Well for whatever reason any time I would click in a new tab on the www.nepacrossroads.com icon it would show me the home page for a second then go to that hospital wifi acceptance page.

If I opened up the history I could click on a past topic and get there but never to the homepage. It's finally working and not going to the hospital page anymore so I can see my favorite website, this one. I'm going to post screen shots and give a better explanation a week from now to see if someone can tell me what might be happening or happened.

It really hurts like hell which during the operation, you might think to stop it but you can't because you are thinking of getting better. A simple wound will hurt us, how much more a major operation, right?

Hi there all you nepacrossroader's

I'm doing really good. I was in the Paoli hospital from 3/27/13, 10:15 AM. I went into the operating room at 11:30 AM & was done at 2:30 PM. I almost begged my orthopedic surgeon to save me my femoral head but I guess that's not allowed anymore. So he did the next best thing and took 2 pictures of it. Once I figure out how to post the pictures I will do that. I did put my new hip in as my avatar though. I left Paoli hospital on Saturday the 30th of March at 1:30 PM to go to Spring Mill rehab hospital in Phoenixville, Pa. I was there for 2 full weeks. I'm glad I went there because I had PT & OT every single day. They didn't try to force me to do the no pain no gain even once. Everyone one was really nice too.

Since we are in the middle of selling the house I live in near Philadelphia Pa & moving to the new house in the Pocono mountains near Stroudsburg Pa I had my son drive me up here to get better with my wife who had a total knee revision on 3/13/13. I went from the massive change of my mind from chicken to actually doing it to the happiness of doing it to the feeling of my right leg was in a bucket of wet cement to worrying about my wife and how she was doing + my daughter hurting her ankle. Also I have narcolepsy & the extra tiredness from an operation made me  .

If my other hip would ever need to be replaced I would do it the first chance I could.
