Sadly NO.... I had ( I thought ) everything lined up last week. 3 guys to arrive at 1:00 PM tift the stove up and place her on the stand. One of the guys didn't show till after 2 pm. :x Should have been a 10 min deal but it was not meant to be.

As much as I want to get her up and running I am not going to rush it either. I need 3 guys PLUS myself to lift the stove and place her gently into her stand. Haste makes waste and the last thing I want is for something to happen to this wonderful stove. I am trying to get some guys I trust (and with good backs) over this weekend. Hope it pans out. If not so mote it be.... Not like we are going cold around here... The Chubby is doing just fine! :D

Yes, take your time to place the "Star" at the good place and be safe on that job.

Pierre

As much as want the Crawford burning I am not going to rush the process. Safety for those lifting the stove and the stoves general welfare comes first......

I am certainly anxious to hear about it once you get it put in. That's for sure.

Sometimes you need to offer a bribe, like Pizza and Beer. :D

But don't bring out the Beer until AFTER the stove is lifted and in place..

The problem is coordinating everyone. Plenty are willing to come but trying to get enough people at the same time is hard right now. Work, the kids, wives, girlfriends, vacations. other commitments all seem to be in conflict right now. Alas,,,, Of course "refreshments" will be provided! BEFORE and AFTER.

Pierre.. My friend... Of course I will special order you your VERY OWN super VEGATBLETARIAN pizza if you trollop down this way. That would be the LEAST I could do for you.. However you haven't told me if you want beer or wine with that pizza......

Photog

If you blaze the trail down this way YOU can strike the first match.....

Since you fly can you swing up to Canada and grab Pierre? Hit upstate NY for Photog, pickup Wsherrick, the grand King of Baseburners and we can have and installation party. You can land at Beveraly Airport about 7 miles away. Much cheaper than landing at Logan.

How about Lobster and steamers for everyone else? Sam Adams ok for the beer?

Sounds like a party! I would not expect any other beer that Sam Adams since you are near Boston! First match? Now that would be an honor!

Make a platform with 2x4, good and solid, the height of the legs. Tilt stove and have someone slide the platform underneath one side. Tilt the other way and slide in the leg assembly. Tilt again to remove the platform and slide the stove body into position.

Cut 8 ft. 2x4 into 8 1 ft. pieces. Tilt stove and add pieces to raise height. Dis assemble leg assembly and re assemble around blocked up stove. Tilt slightly to remove blocks.

I am ELATED to report that the Crawford is on its stand. All that is left to do now is connect the stove to the chimney and she will be fired up! :D
