Smitty, the woman had a do not resuscitate order and the daughter was satisfied with their response. The nurse was only carrying out the wishes of the woman. Unless this is standard policy regardless of the patients wishes I don't see what the problem is.

Had she resuscitated the woman she probably would have lost her job and both her and the facility would have been sued.

KGET confirmed the Bayless did not have a do-not-resuscitate order. Nevertheless, her daughter — who is a nurse herself — told the station she was satisfied with her mother’s care at the facility.

She did NOT have the order, so there was no reason whatsoever not to save this woman's life. Is policy more important that a human life??? If that's the case, then as a society, we're *censored*.

I trust The Blaze to fact check, unlike other sources of media. They've proven themselves over the past year + to be worthy of that trust.

If they're wrong, the liberal media will be more than happy to tell the world about that. Seems the only time they report anything factual is when someone on our side gets their facts incorrect. The Blaze WILL admit when they are wrong.

With some further research it appears you are correct but I'll not this isn't a nursing home either and they have a blanket policy. That policy is most like in place because of liability reasons.

I wonder if all the residents and their families know this part of the policy?

Even without Obamacare, I can assure you the last thing you want to do is go into most of these facilities.

My wife is an EMT and is in and out of these places daily. I can tell stories that would make your hair fall out.

I had an a Aunt in one, it wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. It still bothers me she was there but she needed 24/7 assistance and it just couldn't be done.

From what they just said on TV, the family was well aware of the policy & had signed off on it so it was most likely one of those where you have to sign or initial in about 20 places saying you read & had been informed. Places like that have lawyers that draw the contracts up thinking about every little thing they would try & sue for if the shoe was on the other foot, it's a sad thing that someone would watch someone die without even trying but the laws are different everywhere. My previous wife was "saved" by a doc when is was in intensive care with a huge "do not resuscitate order " both on the foot & at the head of her bed. The doc said he took a Hippocratic oath to try & heal people so thanks to him she was able to suffer for nearly two more weeks, sometimes there is perhaps a higher power that lets the body know when to give up.
