You're a lucky, lucky man!!
I wish my wife was like that. When I ask mine to tend the stove I get the, 'I'm scared. I'm going to do it wrong and break it.', and when she does do it she has to call me 100 times to get walked through the process. My son whom is nearing 14 won't even touch it. Hell, I can barely get him to bring coal in and empty out the ash can once it's full. He won't take the ashes out of the stove, citing and I quote, 'It's too heavy for me to carry.'
I even get that quote when he brings coal in the house, 'It's too heavy. I'm only doing one bag.' My three year old daughter on the other hand is always, like, 'Daddy, can I help? I wanna do it.' and she sits on my lap when I'm shaking the stove down and she puts her hand on the handle, and she helps me scoop coal into the hod and she helps me pour it in the hopper. Maybe, there's still some hope for someone else in my house to tend the beast when I can't.
