Hello again guys. I know the local Agway sells it, but are there any bulk dealers in Southern New Hampshire. Thanks.

If your way down in south eastern NH. then Boston Coal is going to be the easiest, fastest, best bet for you. They are very well in tune to good coal vs poor coal (if you feel you got "smoked" on a batch they have even discounted my next order by 50%). They are a very large advocate of this forum now (Rich can thank me later  ) and someday might even start selling some LL ;) Give them a call at 781-254-2773 let them know your location and what you anticipate you will need (they can even set up a modular bin for you if you need).

Barrington, NH. About 12 miles from you, just north-west of Dover. You DO NOT have to go to Boston, or Maine. Service, Quality, and Price are all right up the road from you!
McManus Fuels - wood pellets - bagged coal mcmanusfuels.com (Kimmels and Blashak) GREAT folks to deal with. I can personally attest to these well regarded 'Friends of Coal.
McManus Fuels sells high quality LG wood pellets and Kimmel's bagged coal. They are located in Barrington NH 03825. Only minutes from Dover and Rochester, New Hampshire.
(603)-335-3138 McManusfuels.com Fred McManus is a one man operation and the guy who answers the phone, puts up your order AND delivers it, if requested.

and I don't see any links here on their site either  If this is a place you do business with then network with them my friend ;)

Perhaps they will see these posts and advertize here. They do business the old fashion way: Fair prices, Great Service AND they stand behind what they sell. They do NOT want all the business, just their share...for the investment they have.

There are coal dealers all over NH, and most are good guys; if not, they get 'culled from the herd' eventually. :woot: :stretcher: :chop:

Rumors of my demise are GREATLY premature. Lots of boilers, not enough time. I sometimes have to take a week off to let the skin regrow. Busy season trying to advise folks that pellet boilers are NOT the way to go.......without offending all the 'pointy heads'. They can never see the forest, the damned trees are always in the way!

I don't know much about the Bellows Falls area, but others from the 'west' must be frequent visitors. I do know that all the machine tool and assorted factories were required to 'go dark' in WW 2 so that in the event of enemy attack no lights were on to direct bombers to this area. Fellows Gear Shaper complex was an essential manufacturing facility for military products. That is true of MANY factory's all along the river valley from the ocean to northern VT.
That used to be a huge coal burning area all along the Connecticut River Valley. Lots of AA's, GJ's, EFM's, Van Werts, and Keystokers, Mills, Spencers......

When Rail was king, it was not uncommon to see 20 rail cars full of black gold waiting to be unloaded. :woot: :dancing: :bang: :stretcher: :crutch:

Sorry to miss the 'Meet and Great'....and I like the idea of a fall gathering......bring along a few new machines and a few working older ones.

Back to the Coal Availability.....Agway has long been a reliable source for bagged, as has Clarke's Grain Stores in Chichester and Ossipee. Bulk may or may not save you money, depending upon your available space and equipment. Direct shipment works also. Every time you handle the product, there is a cost involved.....just sayin'. The 'bottom line' is still what drives your choices.
