Thanks for the support guys, I just hope this process is fair to everyone and I get through it OK

I have not heard from anyone prepared to race down here to have this beauty yet (I know its not the right season to be doing this), so im going to place a public ad at this point. Most of you have my phone # so call me directly if you wish.

I have no place or need for that stove. So ,can someone please explain to me why I feel like running over to Dc's place and tote'n that puppy home? Im thinking the baseburner disease is worse than the boat disease. I had one place and a boat, I found another boat that I just had to have and didnt have room , rather than passing on the boat I buy another place.... I bought an Efm for home , my other place doesnt need heat; is there a cooling function to the glenwood ? I refuse to buy another place that needs heat........ :? I think......... Is there an vacination for this impending curse?

You just need to be creative. Use one as a wine cooler or a lamp. Even better get a #8 and live in it, a prepper would approve. When they come to access taxes good luck with the comps. Of course, if it was Chester, NY they would label it as a beach chalet and triple the taxes. NEVER stop buying stoves and if you have to chose between a woman and a stove........ Nah, she reads this board now and then ... I swear I was not thinking that.

I cleaned it, oiled it and achieved it in the garage (I was going to shrink wrap it but after talking to a few people I decided to keep it open and let air circulate around it as much as possible). The find was one of OneDollar's AGAIN (I happen to be the closest to the location when he put out the calls (his forum name makes perfect sense to me now because of his nak of finding things for short money).

Im not going to give this beauty away for someone to flip but if a senior of this forum wanted a Glenwood Baseburner I'd let them have it for a pretty damb fair price that they could not obtain elsewhere. It needs a shaker handle if anyone happens to see one anytime.

I don't believe these came with magazines. I have never seen one that had a magazine. Of course, just because I have never seen it doesn't mean that some models couldn't have one.

Hey dcrane

You probably have all your questions answered by now, but just in case:

#2 those 2 little doors are soot clean-out doors, to clean out the side air circulation chambers.
#3 The fire chamber was always lined with fire brick. Use a wet refractory to replace the old damaged/cracked fire brick.
#4 I have an original shaker handle. I have managed to hold onto it for the forty years that I've owned my "Our Glenwood 109". Maybe I could have Mike Blais (Auburn Stove Foundry) make a few.

Great, there is an other "Our Glenwood" owner here. :D

The Our Glenwood 111 has come to Ohio.
I found a shaker handle for it too.
Wet refractory...is that the ram type?...or something else?
Just cleaned out the compartments on sides from the 2 small rear doors.
Seems besides the ash, a good bit of coal pieces fall down into those cavities.
Is there supposed to be a split ring type part around top outer edge of fire-pot where exhaust gases get drawn down into the base?

Here is a picture to illustrate what part might look like...Ring part on right side of pic.

Yes, there is a ring that goes around the top, outer edge of the fire pot to protect the space in between and below from large pieces of coal ending up down there. The stove will work fine with out it. You just have to be careful about slinging coal all over the place.
