Al Gore told me all the ice would be gone by now. Is it possible that the inventor of the internet was incorrect?

A Russian passenger ship has become trapped in the remote Antarctic ice more than two days’ sailing away from the nearest rescue vessel, officials said Wednesday.

Keep in mind this is the middle of summer to them! :D

I have to chuckle at the articles statement that this is baffling the scientists. One of them is quoted to say that the water down there is actually continually warming, but the wind is causing more ice despite the warmer water. It's all the winds fault that the dreams of global warming fairies dancing in his head are being distorted (temporarily , I'm sure) by such record levels of ice.
