Turkey Season

Turkey Season

PostBy: 009to090 On: Wed Apr 09, 2014 8:38 pm

Turkey season this week. Today my 12 year old got his first Tom. Nice midsized bird with a 7 inch beard. He stalked the flock, crawling thru a cow pasture full of cow patties  Shooting it with a 12 ga from his stomach. He picked out the largest Tom in the group and hit it first shot.

Dad is proud

That was a great job he should be proud. That should keep him interested. Turkey does not come in till May2nd I believe around here. They have been right behind my barn in the morning scared the crap out of me the other day.

There's a group of like 30 - 40 turkeys that roll through my parent's place randomly. I'll see if I can get some pics of the flock this weekend. It's a riot - they just amble out of the woods from all directions like zombies ... Their lawn around the bird feeders is destroyed.
