No ABS and the brakes have been on there for 2 or 3 years. No lights but I have a wire I just noticed off and it's near the master cylinder.

Actually I noticed that it does. New booster? can it be fixed?

Not worth checking unless you want to suck on it! One at Advance Auto for my K1500 is $7. If the check valve, which should be the plastic 90 that plugs into the booster, is stuck open your engine would run as if there were a vacuum leak > rough. The whooshing noise sure sounds like a blown diaphragm in the booster, though. $120+++ if you do it yourself.

Not really! I have to pick up my $82 pipe tomorrow morning so I'll see if they have one. I think the next stop is going to be the garage. I'm tired of working on it and could be spending time on the new one. Unfortunately my conscious will not allow me to sell it with bad brakes and no one is going to be interested when I tell them that. That's why I'm fixing this stupid pipe.

Actually pulled it off and was blowing on it, seemed to be working, I manually worked it and it got stuck. Gave it a shot of WD-40 and blew it out with the air hose and seemed to be working really good. Still didn't fix it. I think it's that brake booster and I can't even see any of the mounting bolts. There is like thick rubber mat covering them at least the bottom ones and I can't see the top ones. I'm giving up, let someone else deal with it. My luck is I'll spend the afternoon taking it apart and that won't be it.

Did get the muffler and the pipes on.

Most likely the bolts are under the dash where you have to go to disconnect it from the brake pedal. Time for you to do as you say and let someone else break their back as long as you have the money.

I know that's where they are supposed to be but I can't see them. There is this thick rubber or plastic against the firewall and they must be behind that. I haven't checked thoroughly but I don't see any kind of rebuild kit either where you can just do it on the car. The white plastic to the left is the steering column housing. The whole thing is buried let alone the mounting bolts. I'll have get my 9 year old nephew over here to work on it.

Someone is coming to look at the car tomorrow, hopefully they just buy it. I'll let them know about it, the brakes still work but they aren't right.

I'll mention it again, are you sure the correct procedure was adopted when the brakes were bled? I had this problem with a Buick Rendezvous and it was was an air lock in the ABS system.

You can't rebuild the booster as there are no parts available and it is crimped together when assembled.

The last time I had brakes put on was 2 years ago.

This looks like it might spin apart, with tabs that spin into locking position. In any event even if it does come apart I don't see any kits available anyway.
