I will find out in a few short months how it works, but I have a good idea of what adjustments do what. I am thinking about the coal trol system, but I will see how this set up works.

While working on my duct work the last 2 days I was burning the stove and tried something a little different. I was reading up on the Coal Trol system and saw that on a 2 motor feed/combustion system the combustion motor runs constantly. I plugged the combustion motor into constant power last night, turned the feed stroke up all the way and slowly decreased the idle time until I had about a half inch or so of fire on the plate and it burned almost 10 hours and kept a nice small fire. When it calls for heat, the feed rate increases and I have good fire with about an inch of ash at the end of the plate.

I am getting a more complete burn of the coal now and the convection fan runs almost constantly instead of frequent on and off. One thing for sure is when it doesn't call for heat, it barely uses any coal while still keeping a good fire going.
