It's kinda weird in that now that the nites are dropping into the 40s, I keep looking at my stove. 6 months from now, I'll be wanting to shut my stove off when it reaches 40*. Still haven't gotten my supply of black gold yet. I'm seeing my local Blaschack supplier charging a little over $300 a ton. Probably will end up going with Kimmel pea, like last year.

OK, OK, maybe I am a little obsessive about it. I realy don't like PECO ( my electric co.) so anything I can get off of the electric grid is a plus.

Covered a semi load just 2 weeks ago in my tree lot.
Put what I needed in the bin in the basement.
Hate walking through the snow drifts to dig coal out.
Cheers

Started the season on Oct 11 and 209 bags of nut. That should be more than enough for this season. :)

Have a pallet of coal in the garage and replaced all pipes, cleaned the chimney, just have to redo the load door gasket. My husband just did it last year but it doesn't seal tight. I think he should do it again, but what do I know ;) I will have to order another pallet too. I'm thinking of firing up around Thanksgiving or sooner if the temps drop significantly.

Crips it's 30 in NE Pa. this morning. What do you call a significant drop?

LOL Ohhh I dunno when the inside of my house gets to about 50 or so I'm still maintaing 55-56 through the night inside. I run my propane stove in the family room for 1-2 hours at night while we are watching TV.....hehehehe I'm young still I can shiver! Actually I'm procrastinating because in August they took apart my spine and put it back together....I'm forbidden to bend, lift, or twist for the forseeable future until the chunk of my hip that they removed and shoved in my spine grows solid. Now last winter I was the one hauling 200 pounds of coal a week in the winter....that was my workout plan.....incidentally my back was broken then too I just didn't know it yet. My husband has a crazy schedule so I told him he better leave me enough coal inside so that I can throw it in the stove without having to haul it around.
