Our summer squash, mainly Zephyr did real well,100 qts in the freezer, besides lots that we ate fresh. The winter squash was almost a complete failure this yr. Lima beans did very well, besides all we ate fresh,my wife froze 100 qt.so we can eat good limas all winter too. Even tho the deer destroyed a lot of our sweet corn we had a very good yield from it as well,we ate lots of it fresh & froze 40 qt.Green beans did well,40 qt in freezer.2 bushel of potatoes ,carrots are coming in real good. Not too bad a garden yr.,could have been better with more rain.

Our summer squash was slow to come on but lasted later than usual.
Buttercup squash produced exactly one of softball size :( but butternut did well. Unfortunately it's the butterCUP we prefer.

Do you do anything special for cosmos? It used to grow fantastically for us, but now all varieties seem to get a virus and the plants don't look right and flower production is low.

We prefer the butterCUP too along with the Greek red & Red Curry but nothing from any of those kind. They might have done ok without the dry spells we got this yr which stressed them & then the squash bugs took over them.We had some butternut volunteer in the flower beds & yielded decently. They taste pretty good fried with maple syrup & butter. NO problems growing cosmos,my wife says she just throws the seeds out & they grow,we get lots of volunteers too.
