Now that I'm coming down the home stretch on installing my new DS Machine Kozy King 100, I figured it was time to post some pictures!

Here's the old oil burner before work started

And a housekeeping pad being poured... Im almost embarrassed to post this, my concrete finishing skills are quite poor

The chimney's crock needed to be re-located to get the proper clearances to combustibles. First order of business... Remove dead birds and soot!

Next I needed to chisel out the brick so the crock can be lowered.

I'm going to take a quick break and continue with more pics soon!

Next order of business was to take down part of an un-used chimney that has to go anyway to make way for an addition we have planned.... I needed bricks to re-work the chimney for the kozy king.

Then I got my dad to lend a hand on the brick work

Now it was time to bring the new furnace out of the barn and down to the house

Unfortunately, due to the extremely close clearance going in the basement door, we managed to scratch the pretty red jacketing on the furnace :x

Once it was inside, I didnt waste any time getting the stove pipe hooked up and lighting a fire - I wanted to burn a fire in it before connecting to the ductwork, to avoid circulating the smell of curing paint thru the house.

Today I was working on attaching the blower fan and housing. Now I just need to finish the wiring and connect the ductwork.

I had intended to use the Field Controls baro from the old oil furnace on this setup, but the baro won't fit into my tee. Seems the baro is just a hair too big to fit into the tee  Not sure what Im going to do at this point. I fired it on Saturday evening and it's just been idling since, and it seems to be ok without the baro, so I may just leave that alone.

Turns out I will need to buy some additional ductwork to finish this up. The house is plumbed in fiberglass insulated ductwork, Im just not sure where to buy more of it.

Thanks guys! It's been a hectic couple of weeks getting this ready! With the initial firing, I was really amazed at the amount of heat that this stove generates. Just idling along and with the hear circulating by gravity, it was a too-toasty 75° in the 2nd floor master bedroom and 32° outside.

How close is the baro to fitting? Could you make a couple half inch long splits in the tee opening to let the baro squeeze in?

I love the size of that blower! I bet I could modify mine to fit one. I could use a few more CFM. I have dual 550 cfm on it now. What's the electric draw on that blower?

Install looking great Bro! :D

Thanks!

I didn't think about splitting the pipe on the tee to get the baro to fit. Maybe that'll do it.

I'll have to check the amperage rating on the fan. I do know that it's rated at 1638cfm.

I moved to a new house (and got married  ) since last winter, and a freestanding stove just wouldn't be able to effectively heat this old farmhouse. The DS 1500 is still at my old place, but in the next few weeks, we're going to re-home it to my parent's place. I'll have pics of that when the time comes.

My parents heat with oil, and I'm trying to sell them on coal. My uncle (dad's brother) is trying to convert my dad to a pellet burner! I need to make sure coal wins this one! :D

sooooo........how are things coming? I'm on the fence between this a ecomiser and a hitzer 82fa. Your review could sway the vote! :D . And yes, no go on pellets for dad, SIL has them and unless you have plenty dry of inside storage your SOL.
