Right now guys TSC is cheapest around for coal at 249 a ton which is crazy, in Plattsburgh that's what the cost is, heat wave in west chazy is 320/ton, oc mccuin & sons in highgate vt is 354 per 2400 skid, or 295/ton, that's where I bought my coal this year, I've heard hulberts is crazy high but haven't bothered to call.im burning pea and nut in my hand fed furnace, and my father in law is burning pea and nut in his two handfed stoves, a saey Hanover 2 in the house and coral Andes BB in the garage, how much are you guys planning on burning per year? Are you going with bagged or bulk?

Well TSC seems to have it the cheapest. It's kimmel brand, which is the same as Hulbert Bros whom I called and they want 425 a skid, ridiculous because they used to be a lot cheaper than that from what I understand. TSC coal comes bagged and the only downfall is that you have to load and unload yourself, Hulbert also said the only way they would deliver is if I had a forklift to get the pallet off a truck, plus a delivery charge. So if we are talking somewhere in the neighborhood of 450-475 from Hulbert, I will take my chances and do a little extra work to save the money at TSC.

TSC- $5.00 40 lb bags X 50 bags = $250/ton ($300/skid) as opposed to $425/skid plus delivery from Hulbert plus unloading. You do the math. Unless I'm doing my math wrong, I will go with TSC.

Tsc wont load your truck? I totally agree with you that hulberts is way too expensive especially compared to tsc prices

I don't believe tsc sells per skid, only per straight ton

Duprey's Feeds in Chazy is now selling Kimmel's coal by the pallet. They store the coal inside, and are happy to load a pallet on your truck or delivery.

They had rice at $300 per ton, not sure what other sizes they stock right now.

Wren,

Right now I get it from Upstate Heating and Plumbing in North Bangor. I'm thinking of switching suppliers as he raises his prices a bit too much for me year to year. There's an independent supplier in Chateaugay New York that sells for $275 a ton. They have 50 lb bags of all types of coal.

I think I'm paying too much from Champlain Coal in Whitehall, NY. $315 a ton, bulk. It burns well, though.
