It is about the consistency of peanut butter, and air wants to get by as probe is going in.

All I have is the standard silver anti-seize. Think that will be just as good? Or wait a day or two and get the real stuff?Rob R. wrote:I used high temp antiseize on my aquastat bulbs...not sure if that was the brightest idea but the controls are accurate and nothing is seized.

Well the gauge on both boilers are reading about the same.Sting wrote:Before you get too nuts - check that the temp was actually that low

Ok well I just checked on the boiler. It's sitting at 150. The Stat was set at 150/180, 10 Diff. So I slowly raised the Low side. At about 160 the boiler kicked into high gear. So I think the anti-seize is doing the trick. Before it was going down to <140 with the Low side set at 160. I still need to do this to the Hi Limit Stat.

Yeah I was/am a little worried that the anti-seize will run out with the near 200f. But it doesn't run off spark plugs. So I guess it should be fine. I hope.

Things seem to be much better now. I set the Triple Stat to 150/180, 10, and the timer with 2 pins every 15 min. Came home at 3:30 this morning and the stove was on idle (wife doesn't want the heat on yet). The stove temp was about 160. Got up just before noon and it was the same. I don't think I can idle much lower.

Your idle fire looks about like mine.ShawnTRD wrote:Things seem to be much better now. I set the Triple Stat to 150/180, 10, and the timer with 2 pins every 15 min. It sounds like you got it working now.

Yes, if the bulb doesn't fit in the well like a foot in a sock...it needs thermal paste to detect accurate readings.wilder11354 wrote:question?? should ALL dry well stat Bulbs have paste in well? to increse heat transfer?
Dead air space is an insulator.
