Hello friends, I am installing my new Hitzer 30-95 in our living room. The bride wants a mantel to give the illusion of a fireplace. I was going to build a 6"x6 "x 5 foot box beam , then stain and mount. I was going to use 1 inch thick pine. Any suggestion? Can I see some pics of mantels out there?

HI, the faux- foyer is combustion proof and a blower pulls warm air in the basement...
The mantel is in pine but the stove/insert is Inside of the faux foyer. That faux-foyer never gets HOT with the air circulation.
If your stove has a potion of it outside of the mantel, some code régulations may apply to your installation.
As Fred said, some photos could help us to help you :)

Pretty basic, the center panel is part of a 100 yr old door someone through out, the verticals are 1 x 10 pine fluted and chamfered, the shelf supports are homemade, and the shelf is 4 quarter pine stained and varnished. The swirly ma'gigs in the center are glue on from somewhere :?

You want ideas? Here's another one. Faux brick wall is brick verneer, installed onto dura-rock, spaced 1" off wall. Mantel is Chestnut. Stove is, well... it is what it is, for now.
