What do you think? Should heat the garage sipping on coal?

How big is the garage bro? In large open spaces like a garage a heater with a blower is often used such as a modine, (water to air heat exchanger), the reason is the big heat loss. If you have a 1 and 1/2 or 2 car insulated garage with an 8 foot ceiling maybe The cement floor is also a heat stealing culprit. You may need a large steel radiant heater with a blower. That is a nice looking stove but you want to think BTU output first. Just my 2 centshotblast1357 wrote:http://burlington.craigslist.org/mat/4739524400.html

You also want to keep solid fuel burners off the floor 18 to 24 inches or in a small room because vapors from other fuel sources, (vehicles etc.) are low to the floor.

Its a 2 car garage off the house, 32x36, 10 ft ceilings, but never gets COLD because I have a six inch duct out there off from my coal furnace, I have a nice little wood stove in there right now which does a great job, but I don't get the long burns or safety of no creosote, I just figure that if I can find a nice. Little coal sipper for cheap it would be perfect, I just need something to keep the chill off

You have a big space there and you could put a fan near the stove to move heat around or better yet put up a ceiling fan. It is a nice looking stove and the price isn't bad either.

I would buy that stove whether it did the job or not. It obviously is patterned after the Godin, but has a grate design that should work a lot better. I don't think it is big enough for that space depending on how warm you want it.

For that price buy it. I am sure you will like it. Because of potential gas fumes in a garage there are restrictions in what you can use though unless there is a separate room or fresh air is piped to the air intake of the stove.hotblast1357 wrote:Well all of last winter it never dropped below 45, I do not need much heat.

Yes, I've heard many different times on different occasions about the 18 inch rule, this stove primary control seem really low to the ground so idk what is do there, personally I'm not worried about it, never had any issue, the whole family has stove in there garages and never had a problem with fumes, I guess if it was a shop using chemicals and running engines all the time I'd be worried but we just park our vehicles and lawn mower in there, and ya they can leak fumes with the tanks but idk, guess there's always a chance with everything

Something does look odd with that doesn't it..freetown fred wrote:DITTO what FB said. Ya can't beat that price. Just check that lower right door hinge
The stove looks nice, the price looks nice...maybe just stove cement on the hinge but maybe not. Needs a look at it but that can be a good ""excuse"" to get lower price. Anyway, at the actual price it could be a good deal.
