In a different thread (How Should an AA130's Fire Look at Full Burn?) there was some discussion about PID temperature controllers. I'd like to hear more about the different models people have used, how difficult they were to setup, thermocouples, etc.

Reliability of the controller and quality of the instructions would also be good to know.

I know that Johnson Controls makes a very rugged nema class 3 one that I used in the Navy. you can hook up a j/k thermocouple and control a 110V/15A circuit. Granted those aren't cheep...
