Just brought home a couple tons from the Vernon Ct store, for a buddy of mine. Says that store "only" ordered 3 tons this season, and aren't planning on ordering more. Aren't even advertizing coal. How do they expect to see what kind of interest is out there, if no-one knows they're carrying it?

I've been talking to a local TSC and stopped in there yesterday in person, but no luck. I tried to order 2 pallets, but the place in Kentucky said no way, it won't be shipped to this market area. I kind of figured that would be the case but I had to try it anyway. Maybe if they get their system working better next year I'll try again. Might have better luck in the off season like next July. It can't hurt to try. Otherwise, maybe I could go direct to a supplier there in the east and just pay whatever the freight would be on a couple. Jerry

Tractor Supply is Sidney, NY had some in stock, I picked up 5 bags to try, they have a few more bags in stock if someone wants to clean them out. I asked the manager if they have been selling a lot and she said, "uhhh I don't think we have." If price stays at $4.99/a bag ill be buying more in January when I will need another ton.

The way TSC has been going, if you want it for January, you had better order it now.

TSC is missing a great opportunity here.

Maybe they should target regions where bulk delivery sources don't exist, or where distance nearly negates the savings of bulk. My .02's worth, anyway.

Think about this.
The more you all tell TSC what kind of deal your getting. How you were willing to pay $8 a bag here ,$7 a bag there......etc;etc...where do you think your next year prices will be...They are in the business to make money..

What's wrong with ordering your coal, picking it up and quietly smile on the way home.

This is a great site, I've learned a lot here and will continue to.

Just my $4.99
