Yesterday my daughter and I were doing errands together and I decided to get some Reading coal from Dodge Grain in Salem, NH. There the cheapest I've found in southern New Hampshire. $305.00/ton. As far as the people that say there's a shortage, I don't think so. They had 44 tons of nut on hand. At least that's what the girl told me. Since yesterday afternoon I've been burning the Reading nut exclusively in the two stoves with no problems. So I've tried all three of the major brands of bagged coal this year and can't complain about any of them. The Reading also lights real quick. Overslept and forgot about the 114. Threw come coal on and the fire came right back. The Kimmels seems to burn with alot less volatiles than last year. Although I'm only using Kimmels pea. Last year was Kimmels nut and stove. So in closing looks like we got a good batch of coal in the northeast this year.

My aunt did say she could get a tractor trailer in my driveway so might be a different story next year.

My friend said come up with the cash and we'll talk about railcars. Don't have that kind of money right now.

Myself and others have been trying to get the area's TSC stores to get coal.

Matt

No William, I've seen what it did to Simon. :D

But, .... I'll bet you got a bit of a flashback to the days of shoveling coal from a tender into a steam firebox, ... didn't ya ? :D

Hello all. Still burning the Reading coal exclusively. I let the 114 go out early Sunday morning. Got warm again (60 deg. out). The Oak 40 is still chugging along to keep the chill off at night. Anyway here's some pictures of the ash. Can't till the difference. Looks the same as the Kimmels and Blaschak. Matt
