Hello,
Let me start by apologizing, im not sure if this the right place to post this but I have approximately 2-3 tons of rice coal I'd like to sell or trade for but or stove coal. The guy I bought the stove from told me he burned it but its a Harman mark III & I've been told it won't work. If your interested please contact me via this forum & we'll go from there.
Thank you

mxzx21, Welcome to the coal forum,it would be good if you would fill out your profile to tell at a glance whether you live in Jamaica or Siberia . Either one of those places would be too far for me ,now if you live in Lebanon county ,Pa. that would be different. I didn't notice anything as to it being bagged or bulk, that too is very important.

I burned nut coal in my MarkIII when I first bought it. It burned good but when we had warmer days it was way to hot inside and if I turned the draft down to burn it slower it would go out. Members on this board told me to mix pea and nut coal together and this is called range coal. I am sure that would have worked well.

I never tried mixing the coal and just went to pea coal and it burns very well. I can turn the draft down and it will burn low and slow. When it is cold out side I open the draft and enjoy as much heat as I need.

Thank you guys,
I did mean anthracite nut or stove coal for sure stupid autocorrect. I actually had a guy come here yesterday to buy it & he informed me it was "buckwheat" coal?.?. My stove does not list that as 1 I can burn & did a test run yesterday and I lose quite a bit when I loaded it into the ash pan & when I attempted to do a simulated shake down I lost a bunch more. So I'm going to relist it as buckwheat & see what I can do.
If anyone was is interested I have about 2.5 tons with the equipment to assist in loading
Thank you

I have a Harman Mark II and I burn strictly nut, I have heard the rice is too small as it will fall through the grates. End of last season my local supplier was out of nut so I had stove and pea, I would fill it mostly with stove and put a nice layer of pea on top of that, worked well but the stove coal is a bit cumbersome. Hope you can find someone!
