Hot Air Coal Stoker Furnace: Leisure Line Hearth with twin turbos (sounds like it)

Post by av8r » Sun. Dec. 21, 2014 9:31 am

I usually burn Blaschak, but lately we've been burning Reading in the 40 pound bags and between it being soaking wet and tons of fines I'm at the point that I'm going to stop using it. Usually, I only need to clean the fines under the stoker plate once a season, but this stuff has the plate nearly locked up after only a month. Anyone else seeing this with Reading? Is Blaschak coming from the same mine/breaker this year?

I've had some issues with Blaschak I never had like caking up and jamming the feed grate. Also I had some with huge pieces of coal that jammed my opening for the pusher arm so no coal got thru to be pushed onto the grate.
Not bad but I thought I had read they changed mines or breakers a while ago so maybe they are from the same area. Only they know. If it's cheaper burn it.

Could be the retailer's reason or root cause?
