Can't stop checking it - to see the flames.

Rice coal - unknown origin - about 3.5 tons that we shovelled out of my friends coal bin. It has been sitting in the bin since 2009.

Post some more pictures of your burn. It looks like you need to increase your air setting a little. Welcome to the "best stoker in town club" :D

How are the controls setup? Are you just going to maintain the boiler at a constant temperature?
I believe it is the standard efm control package. Control boiler from 140-180 - circulator to house propane boiler runs all the time.
I hope this answers your question if not let me know - I'll try again.
Unless you have the TT terminals jumped in the triple aquastat you will probably have to make some adjustments when the weather gets colder. 140 degrees isn't going to do the job in most cases.

What is the aquastat strapped to the pipe next to the circulator doing?

Your wish is my command; love looking at the fire. :)

Looking forward to your advice for the knowledge to set the feed rate and air and how to know when they need adjusting.
Currently running feed rate 4 teeth and air 5

Good questions. I don't know the answer. I'll talk with my plumber and post his reply.

Boy! That's a nice looking fire. If I didn't know better, it would appear that you are an old hand at this stuff :) The first pictures looked like the fire was running off the sides. Right now is a good time to get all the kinks ironed out. There is a good cold spell coming to test your system a little. Keep track of your coal useage and let us know how its going. Stay warm :)

New Taco 0013 F3 pump installed. the other was seized.
The backup Taco 007 was not the right pump, barely pumped any water at all.

All is well today.
House is warmest that it has been since summer.

My neighbor came by yesterday to see the efm 520 in action. Can't make this stuff up. LOL

He said after looking at the efm 520 boiler and taking a look in the fire door: " how can that little fire heat your entire house?"

Then this morning he called to check in: "it got colder overnight, don't see how that little fire could keep you warm last night."

Lil' fire still going strong. One match since first fire Dec 27. On day 27.

Check that - the second night the fire went out - because I forgot to twist the end of a cotter pin in the Clutch Shaft Coupling;
needless to say eventually it would fall out only took one day. It was laying on the ground re inserted and a twist on the end.

After burning 6 full cord of wood last year (different house) I feel like I am doing nothing.
House is set at 73 degrees at the first floor, second floor set to 69 degrees with set back to 66 degrees, only because I prefer the
cooler temp to sleep.

Looks like I have burned around 3000 pounds of coal so far.

Thanks for the help during the assembly.
Especially vermontday - everyone who see's the skid/bulk feed bag system are amazed at the ingenuity and simplicity.

LOL - LP Delivery today - Driver came and knocked on door - do you have your heat on?
2.3 gallons of lp is all they could cram in the tank.

Invoice attached.

What a sweet victory, I wish I could have videoed the driver - he was shocked.
