It was just announced that in 2014 Blaschak had record coal sales for the fifth year in a row. They sold 374,000 tons. It was up 16.5 % above 2013. They also said they were 12% above forcasted sales. The article also said they are currently sitting on one of the biggest veins in North America. The article also says there are 4 to 6 billion tons of anthracite still in Northeastern PA.

I found the following in our local newspaper Republican Herald. This is a quick sentence from the article and the link to the full article.

One of the country’s top anthracite producers, the 77-year-old company’s prepared coal sales were more than 374,000 tons in 2014.

This is a good thing. If the recent post about Home Depot and Walmart have contracting with Blaschak to carry bagged coal comes to pass (Kimmel's dropped by Tractor Supply ????) , it will only help those of us outside the NEPA with the cost. Even if my local HD/Walmart stores won't stock it, I could have it shipped to the store for no cost; at least I can under current store policy. That's a win for me.

I have been very happy with the Blaschak I have been burning over the years. I don't care for Reading coal so Lowe's carrying it won't help me. Lisa

Lisa do you ever go to J.E. Rice in Manassas ? They are only 30 mins from Springfield and sell Blaschak by the bag or pallets . That's where I get mine . I would rather support them than the big chains. If the big chains drive him out of his price point then that means I'll have to drive to a damn Walmart and that just ain't gonna happen!
