I'm currently running my 110 boiler with 6 zones of baseboard. My main house is 1 zone of Iron feed and return loop with iron baseboards that I always had problem heating. There is over 25 gallons of water in that zone alone along with 200 feet of 1 inch iron pipe and fittings. Add to that the thermal mass of the baseboard. I recently took 2 bedrooms off that zone and fed them with 3/4 pex which reduced the water volume by more than half. I have a ball valve on each zone and they are all barely 1/3 open. My boiler spends more time heating the zone instead of heating a few hundred pounds of iron pipe and water in the pumbing. LL is set at 180 and off at 165 and undershoots to about 155. If it undershoots below that I close the valve on that zone a little bit to restrict the flow more.
