I just heard the same thing. 6 to 10 inches of snow on the way between 2AM Sunday morning and 7AM Monday morning. Plus we will wake up to minus 15 degrees (actual) tomorrow morning.

I'm getting tired of the snow. I can't say I've ever seen anything quite like this in all of my days. it just wont stop, and it doesn't go away.

Record low mean temperatures for February were set in multiple places across Ohio.

Short version: Coldest February in History.

And the first half of February was warm, so the second half was brutal.

It's not over yet by any means. Of course the most bitter weather will be past after this upcoming week. You are going to get a thaw for about 5 days then it's back down.
Now we are getting into the see saw part of the year. You might need heat almost into May in some places or even later. Here where I live the heating season lasts until mid May under normal circumstances.
I guess we should have a thread in a month or so about when each person has his last fire of the season.

I'll join this post as the "house whine." I'm so tired of the whole winter! It's been raining ice all day here in Northern VA. There is already a 1/4 to 1/2 inch of ice on top of the snow we already had. The forecast calls for more freezing rain throughout the evening. They say it's going to stop this evening but the temperature will not get above freezing until after 8 or 9 am tomorrow. I emptied all my ash pans onto the sidewalk and driveway and could have used more. The happiness over of the the success of that doesn't make me feel any better about the weather.

From the looks of it we will be out of school again tomorrow or at least have a two hour delay. We didn't have a full week of school the entire month of February. I'm so tired of the whole thing. Enough whining, take care, stay warm. Lisa

I sure everyone has been keeping up with the ice extent in the Great Lakes. The lake ice is ahead of last year and it is thicker as well. I'll find a link somewhere.
This means a delayed Spring which will be cool like it was last year.

The ice breakers have given a warning for ice fisher people that they will begin opening shipping lanes tomorrow & to move close to shore & be aware of thin ice conditions. :) Not sure if it's just for Erie or all the lakes.

Ice Thickness On Misery Bay,Just North Of You,Sam,Was 22" Last Week ! That's going to be the story for all River Basin Outlets In Lake Erie,Let alone a Good Majority Of The Great Lakes....We are paying dearly for the quiet December We had here.....Cheer Up,Madame Fogs,as We're Forecast for Freezing Rain of a supposed decent quantity this coming Tuesday A.M......Depending Who You Are,And How You Tick,I think a Good Majority Of Folks are a little Long In The Tooth with the Deep Winter that's set in......Ehh,What The Hell....It's Why We Believe In Coal ! We Can Finish This ! :dancing:
