Hand Fed Coal Stove: STOKERMATIC JUMPER HEATER
Coal Size/Type: stoker

I just bought an old Stokermatic Jumper Heater for my garage. It works good but it has broken firebricks and the floor is uneven. I thought I could maybe replace the bricks this summer to keep it functioning. Has anyone ever done this? I don't know how they would get broken. This is model A2579.

Welcome to the forum Larry,

There are a few Stokermatic guys on this forum and hopefuly they will chime it. I have only see photos so I have know idea why the fire brick would break. I would think to remove them, they should just pull out, unless they were furnace cemented in place.

I have a combustioneer, very much like a stokermatic. You should be able to clean the peices up real good and furnace cement the pieces back in place. The floor of the hearth does not have to be smooth, just be sure no air holes in the tuyer are plugged.

How badly are the bricks damaged? Are they just cracked?

I've never seen a stokermatic with a floor (hearth) that isn't uneven so that shouldn't be a problem ;)

Could you post some photos of firebrick and hearth?
