What was weird was that they wouldn't let me pay in full and each pallet was a separate order so I had go through 5 different transactions to complete my purchase. In my opinion this forced layaway program they are running is stupid. Hopefully when I go to make by August 4 payment I can just pay it all off. The price per pallet was $274.50 with all the discount on the Kimmels Rice. They didn't give a date for the product to show up other than soon.
All I can say is order early because last yr when I placed my order I had to wait for the phone call to say my coal was in, so they must put folks on a list, first in, first out. Here's the funny part, I was able to buy a ton of coal off the floor well before my coal came in. ;)

No TSC has the coal yet...it's Pre-Order and save $25.00/ton, but only till July 26th.
Thanks - will go to the local TSC and order!

Went to T S yesterday in Plympton MA. and pre ordered 2 tons of nut coal at the sale price.
Total came to $549 for 2 tons, not a bad price for MA :D

Hey Coaledsweat, they where last year, 50 - 40 lbs. bags on a pallet.
I would assume it comes the same way for this year.
On the sales receipt it rang up as 100 bags.

I was successful in pre ordering a ton of Kimmel , 50 bags @ 40 pounds/bag, nut sku 1100817 , You must put it on layaway or pay in full to get the $25 discount, and with the lay away, you personally have to go into the store and make the 3 other payments before the due date of these payments. But, if you are making the last payment, be a penny shy , so you stay in the system. With layaway, they will not call you when it comes in, it is up to you to check with them. With rain check, they will call you when it is in, but you can not due rain check and get the discount. These are the rules as I have been told and understand them. final price with discount is $275 ton

edit: I asked and was led to believe, that I would pay the remainder when the coal is shipped to the store , which is fine as long as it arrives before the next payment. But as I got home and read the fine print on the receipt, there are 3 payments to be made by me, at the store by me personally , as time goes by and they do not get the coal. So if the coal does not arrive, and time goes by , you do have to pay in full. But I just do not feel right about paying up front for something that they might not be able to get, and then have to go get my Money back. I was told that I could get my money back if they can not get the coal. This was not explained to me at the store, and I did ask. I hope everything plays out OK on this.

I pre-ordered 4 tons of nut here in Uniontown, PA. They also already had a pallet of the nut coal sitting in the middle of the store along with pellets and blocks of wood. Seeing that pallet of coal sitting there makes me feel a little more comfortable ordering and paying upfront. At least I know they started shipping some.

Got to see a few of them when I had to pickup at the TS loading door. They look just like slightly smaller versions of pallets with the 50 pound bags.

So, since Kimmel's is just a bagging company, the question this year is, are they getting the coal from the same mine?
