Any more pictures? Did you have to space out your aquastat to clear the extended coil plate?

I found that an extended length aquastat well does make it easier to mount the aquastat next to the extended coil flange. You can also use an aqaustat with a remote mounting kit.

Hello all,
Have not had the time to respond to the latest post sorry for that, just got back from vacation and now the twins graduation party is breathing down my neck .
Oh well to answer the question about the extended flange and the well interference, I do believe that I will have a problem and plan to either use an extended well or a remote aquastat controller. Not sure yet I have a buddy who has a brand new in the box beckett controller or I will just go with the hydroline 3250.
As far as pics go I have posted just about all I have that are worth looking at, all I have now are the pics of the break down of the S20 before it went to the paint booth. I can post if anyone is interested.
Speaking of posting pics can anyone tell me how to post more than one pic at a time, it can become quite a tedious task one at a timing them.
Best Regards
CS

Just got 10 ton of Lehigh rice last night.
Justin came through as promised, even with some truck trouble he made the trip and delivered.
I hope we can do business in the future.
It is nice to know that I am set for the winter now, no more chasing wood through the winter every weekend.
I am getting ready to build some skids for the super sacs this weekend.
It seems like I am ahead of the game or maybe not the clock is ticking.

I have not had alot of time lately, but I have gotten a little accomplished.
I had a coal delivery from Justin, great guy.
I have built my first feed skid.
Also have constructed my auger feed box
I have removed a wall to access the basement window, the wall was for a future basement bath but it was just a wall all the plumbing is still in the slab.
I will be building a PT hopper that I will use with the Massey Furguson loader the move the coal from my old wood storage area/ new coal storage area and chute it through the basement window, I have a good angle I think to the bag and if not I just raise the hopper up.
I plan on the hopper being skid style portable with my machine.
Anyway I have uploaded some pics.
Best Regards

You are well on your way from being an outdoor wood boiler to a coal convert!
This means you can have fun at the local fair asking the owb people if they have anything that you just load once a month with no lifting!

coal stoker, keep at it ,it might seem overwhelming right now,but this winter when you no longer have to go outside & chuck wood into the wood monster it will make the winter's cold so much easier to deal with.Looking good, keep going ,an easier heating life is just ahead.

Thanks for the response guy's.
I continue to plug away at my install, I am currently designing and building the coal hopper I will use to feed the chute that will be going through my basement window.
I think have a pretty good design for the hopper, just a simple V design made out of pressure treated plywood and 2 x 4 lumber.
I will fit a hole in the center bottom as a discharge to the chute.
I am trying to determine a chute style I am thinking of a piece of galvanized duct work, or maybe 8" round PVC cut in half.
Any suggestions for something simple, I don't think it will be used more than 2-3 times a year, being I will be storing 5-6 ton on skids in my basement.
Thanks again
Best Regards

I suppose either will work, but my instincts say go with metal.

I guess I got my answer for the coal chute, kinda by default.
I found used 8" sch.40 on CL, 25$ a length.
Cut one in half length wise and that should do it.
Will post pics of progress.

Started working on the electric, I thought piping it was fitting.
Or maybe it is just habit, not sure .
I know the aquastat is 24 vac output, but I will have an interposing relay to fix that.

In the earlier pic showing the auger that will be under the skid, it looks like there are too many flights exposed. AFAIK the manual says 2-3 flights, and people on the forum who have used more than that have reported grinding of the coal.

I have thought about the fact that I have alot auger exposed since Rob R. mentioned it awhile back.
I am thinking that you are both correct and I will make the adjustment by shortening the auger and reduce the # of exposed flights that way.
I don't think it will be anything that a grinder and a cut-off wheel can't handle and I believe I have a weld on the flight already in this area.
Thanks

Just ordered my venting, good prices and I like the Duravent name.
http://www.ventingpipe.com/
I will let you know, I believe they are on the West coast 5-7 day delivery.
Anybody ever use cement board to help with combustible clearances, anyway I will be building a 18"x 18" x 60" tunnel to route
the venting through.
The existing triple wall can't be moved and I have existing systems also in the way.
Electrics are done and I am adding some bells and whistles for high temp conditions.
Auger Temp
High Temp
Dump Zone
I am thinking about a Honeywell L6006A to monitor outfire condition.
We'll just an update haven't checked in lately, I am running out of time and I feel the cool Autumn mornings.
Gotta keep going.
Best Regards guy's
