Need Idea's

I guess I just can not get the correct keywords to search the topics to find what I am looking for. I read about folks installing duct/piping from outside house to combustion blower. Can some of you post pictures of your set up and a brief write up on how and what you have done? And how did you address the possible issue of getting high moisture/water/snow into your combustion area?
I have been trying to find topics where people address keeping dirt and dust from getting into the electric motors. If someone could post pictures or a write up on how to correct this issue I would be very grateful.

And lastly, I am not sure if it's just me that is having issue with the stoker gear motors. 2 years ago I replaced gear motor with a brand new one direct from Reading Stove company. It only lasted 1 season. Last year I went to the local Alaska dealer and bought a new gear motor from him. By end of last heating season was very loud. Tried it out last week and man it's super loud. These gear motor's are Avery-gleason brand. Can anyone provide me a link, or place to buy a better gear motor that will last. I don't mind spending the money for something if it last. I thought when I added the separate combustion air blower and removed the blower wheel from bottom of the gear motor I would be getting a longer life from the gear motors.

My combustion air pipe is not pretty to look at but its in the basement so that doesn't matter much.

Here is a pic at the combustion blower intake on my mag stoker. It is just setting there against the fan intake, not fastened at all.

Where it comes out the replaced window pane...

diagonal pipe from window to the fan intake...

should have mentioned that being in the window well I have never had snow pile up in there but we aren't exactly in the snow belt down here!

bowersox1, did you ever do an autopsy on one of those dead gearboxes?

If your grease got warm and flowed away from the gears you could take steps to prevent that or whatever.

No I never torn one apart but think I might. What type of grease should I try to use if I find it has gotten hot?

I got brave and did tear into the gearmotor. What a mess. Your right about the grease. No wonder it doesn't last. After seeing this mess I am working on a idea. I'll post once I figure it out and get it done.

Someone here did drill and tap to add a low-point grease fitting in their gearbox...and maybe a high-point vent hole so as to not pressurize it with pumping in the grease.

Titleist1, your inlet pipe you have in your window well, is it just straight or you have it turned up or doen? I'm just trying to figure out how to do mine.

I know I'll be running pvc pipe through the block wall to outside. Just trying to figure out how to do the outside. Don't want to give the bee's a home in the summer or mice a place to live. Also don't want to suck lots of water, snow or dirt into piping and blower.
