Well bought truck 11 years ago, $900 dollars, put plow on it and been just using it for plowing and pulling wagons at farm. Another truck is out of question for a few years..Soooo rehabing rusted away, broken CHIT!!! Radiator support..GONE, got new one, pass side spring/shock bucket torn rut holes in it, pass side front cab mount..collapsed, got new panels.Fron exhaust pipes to maniflod; brackets and studs rotted out, replaced.Repaired driver side cab mount last winter... Right now doing front half of truck, after its all back together, taking to a friends to replace/rebuild fuel tank cross brace mount supports..pretty much gone, then buld new cross frame braces for rear , fore and aft of rear fuel tank., Redo one rear shackle mount, and one leaf spring. After this, might put back on road.. been off road for 3 years now.
Don't have a mig welder to use for body panels, so wll be using structural adhesive, and large head steel rivets to install panels.- 2001Sierra

this brings back memories of the 1st generation Bronco we used as a plow truck. It was like having a boat: A hole in the water you throw money into! Every year it was extensive repairs just to plow our lot.
Can't say I miss that!

Yep.. its work, got to raise driver side cab, front mount box I made for it last year is low... washers will raise it the inch or so I need. when all done will still beat paying for a newer one just for plowing and some work on farm.

My dad bought a Bronco new in 1971, rusted away when it hit 30,000. Between him and me, we had 6 or 7 old ones. Don't even look at the prices of restored ones. Blazers, ramchargers and Scouts couldn't go where the bronco went. Only thing that could was a old willys jeep, it would take a lot longer but the willys always made it.labman wrote:this brings back memories of the 1st generation Bronco we used as a plow truck.
