Van Wert Stokers Question

i currently have a va600 steam boiler with a bad boiler I know where a va13 aka va400 is sitting it was working as a hot water unit can I use it as a steam boiler and are my parts interchangeable

Yes. All you really have to do is put the sight glasses and steam package on. It also depends on if it is going to be big enough for you.

my father always put in way to much of everything the 600 was oversize for my little house just about 1000 square feet then again so is 8 hp well pump

I heated my 3700 square foot house very easily during one of the coldest winters on record with a restored Van Wert 400. It really just sipped the coal. Very efficient. And quiet too! :)
