Ha Ha. Yes yes lots more to do! Should be doing the near boiler piping within the week. And we will depending on the original houses zones this winter, and blocking off entrances to the addition.
Nope no hunting this year!

Setup a permanent work bench next to the boiler, and got the mano hooked up. Used brass 1/8 npt to 5/16 hose barbs and 5/16 ID automotive vacuum line. Hung the mano on the hopper, and used the side ports. The needle pulled off the pin when I hooked it up, i'm guessing that's a good sign. Using the low side of the mano.

Windy- The Carhartts are always ready to go as needed!
So after re-reading the installation manual from Keystoker, They have the bypass loop T installed BEFORE the Calculator pump. Mine is AFTER, Does anyone see any reason for me to change this?

Yes. The way you have it piped currently will create a "system bypass" rather than a boiler bypass. Basically the water will just go through the bypass piping rather than out through the radiation. Unless you can adjust this with valves, you will end up with most of the flow in the boiler & bypass piping, and very little through the radiation.Olllotj wrote:So after re-reading the installation manual from Keystoker, They have the bypass loop T installed BEFORE the Calculator pump. What make/model circulator is that anyway? It looks huge.
What type of radiation is in your house?

My bypass has a ball valve in it, in case it needed to be throttled.
The circ pump is just a b&g style.
Baseboard fin tube radiators.

For a fin tube system, I doubt you need a bypass at all. Do you intend to run the circulator all the time or only on heat calls?
Interesting that you are using a $300 power hog circulator over a Taco 007 or equivalent.

Maybe I will just close the ball valve on the bypass loop.
The calculator pump is just one that I already had.
It is the same pump that is on my propane boiler. It will be setup to run on heat calls only.
